# TrustLLM > A release gate for LLM answers. Write guardrail rules, check answers against a source text, and get PASS or FAIL with plain-language reasons and suggested fixes. Browser app, CLI, GitHub Action and MCP server. MIT licensed, no account, no telemetry. Demo mode is offline and labelled; live mode uses the caller's own provider key. Important facts for agents: - Demo mode results are produced by deterministic stand-ins and word-matching heuristics. They are not measurements of any real model. - API keys are never stored or logged. The web API accepts a key per request and only provider presets, not arbitrary URLs. - Exit codes of the CLI and Action: 0 gate passed, 1 gate failed, 2 error. ## Use it - [Web app](/dashboard): evaluate answers, edit guardrails, history, export, share links - [Documentation](/docs): first run, CLI, GitHub Action, score meanings, rule types, privacy, limits - Health and capabilities: GET /api/health - Evaluate: POST /api/evaluate with JSON {mode, cases[{prompt, context?, answer?}], models[{provider, model, apiKey?, preset?}], judge?, samples?, rules?}; returns a trustllm.report/v1 JSON report ## Integrate - CLI: `node dist/cli.cjs run trustllm.yaml` (init, run, mcp). `init --pack support-bot|rag-strict|structured-output|safety-first|try-it-lenient` - MCP server: `node dist/cli.cjs mcp` (stdio). Tools: evaluate, list_packs, list_rule_types - GitHub Action: `uses: Professional50coder/trustllm@main` with `config:`; optional `comment: true` posts the report on pull requests ## Source and evidence - [Repository](https://github.com/Professional50coder/trustllm) - [Methodology](https://github.com/Professional50coder/trustllm/blob/main/docs/methodology.md) - [Measured agreement with labels, with limits](https://github.com/Professional50coder/trustllm/blob/main/docs/evaluation.md) - [Market research and peers](https://github.com/Professional50coder/trustllm/blob/main/docs/market-research.md)
